The Roommate Series and Steamy Reviews

Heart You and Bind Me are the first two installments to what promises to be another hot adventure with each set of roomies. Mind you if you meet Chaz, please feel free to send him this way. That man is drop dead sexy and if you read Bind Me, you'll understand.

sexy gif photo: 526818471_1958132083.gifNow here come's two warnings so please pay attention:
1. This is an adult series. It's about great sex. I mean amazing sex.
2. Please refer to the image provided, that is a possible result of reading either of these novellas.
*Oh and I did include what could be construed as a "racy" picture

That was the daily torture Samantha put herself through when she thought of her roommate, Kara. At least until Kara comes home with a sizzling hot man and a night full of naughty games that would even make cupid blush.

My Review

5 Stars

Before reading this book you’ll need the following: a fan, dry panties and some privacy. That was my warning, Folsom wrote an incredible sexy short story that had me blushing and begging for more. Who hasn’t ever thought about someone they considered “off limits?” Rene Folsom brings that scenario to life through Kara’s sulking to sultry Valentine’s Day evening. Heart You gives an example of when three’s not a crowd if there’s desire and naughty games involved. Even though it’s a short story, Folsom will get you addicted to her roommates and wishing there was more. You’ll need the fan for when the games begin. Oh, the hotness of the steamy scenes is indescribable and I can’t think of another author who does hot and steamy better than Folsom. After I finished this novella, I would have signed up for a three some without a second thought. I couldn't have asked for a better story.

Bind Me (Book 2)

Rene Folsom

Book Synopsis:

Lily had a suspicion her new roommate was the type to always take control, no matter what the situation. It wasn’t until she accidentally peeked in on Chaz dominating another woman, that her suspicions were realized. Lily watched with amazement as Chaz masterfully played the female like a sensual instrument, bringing her the most intense gratification Lily had ever witnessed.
After witnessing his sexual expertise from a distance and noticing the careful attention he gives to his lovers, Lily wanted nothing more than to have his hands sculpt every inch of her body. Unable to forget the incredibly erotic scene Chaz so skillfully played out, Lily sought to make her desires known by casually submitting to him throughout their daily lives.
To her excitement, Chaz invites Lily to his prestigious art show opening at a local gallery. All it takes is a slinky dress, a pair of kitten heels, and a tiny scrap of lace to drive Chaz wild, causing some very heated moments.

My Review

5 Stars

Another sexy, sexy adventure in the roommate series. Seriously, you're going to wish Chaz was your roommate.

*catches breath after flashback to reading this book*

Rene Folsom does not disappoint in any way shape or form with Bind Me. Even though Bind Me is a short story, Folsom includes so much detail that I could envision Lily and Chaz like they were actually my neighbors. Bind Me is told through Lily’s point of view and even though she knew what she was getting into, it was told in a refreshing manner. I loved how she portrayed BDSM because it’s not all like what many readers were introduced to with Christian Grey. Plus sexy artist Chaz had my pulse racing by the time he was finished being introduced.

Lily is engaging and easy to love and relate to. The way Folsom expertly wrote her to be excited, intrigued and apprehensive all at once was impressive for a short story. Another thing you can definitely expect is moist panties. The steamy scenes and moments will get your pulse racing and temperature rising. Bind Me is better than fresh baked chocolate chip cookies from the oven. I will be keeping up with the roommate series for as long as Folsom keeps writing them. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any hotter after Heart you (book 1), I read Bind Me and was blown away again.
Seriously give the books a try and discover new tricks for your own bedroom.

I had no idea this book was even available yet until this morning when I happened to notice Ashley Wilcox changed her cover photo on facebook. Yes, I’m aware how stalkerish that sounds but for me Ashley Wilcox’s forever series made me a believer in romance. It was never a genre I seeked books out in. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about a little romance being mixed in with a paranormal scheme but after reading an ARC of Waiting on Forever my opinion changed. I believe in romance and have read quite a few romance novels since then. I love Ashley Wilcox and have the utmost respect for her as a writer since she can twist my heart and soul into knots with nothing but a little romance.

Promising Forever is the story of Summer and Collin’s wedding weekend which if that’s not enough to make your heart melt, all your favorite characters from the first two novels make guest appearances. Matt, Leah, Travis, Kenzi and we even get a glimpse of Alexa and Nolan over the course of the weekend. After reading Waiting on Forever, I knew I had to know more of Summer and Collin. I needed more of their story and Promising Forever delivered everything I could have hoped for. My breath was taken away again and again. Ashley Wilcox twisted my heart and filled me with such anticipation I couldn’t stop reading!

(There's so much passion behind Ashley Wilcox's words and characters, they're impossible not to get lost in. I could envision every moment of their wedding weekend and feel their love. Plus I love the way Collin has such confidence in what he feels for Summer and when seducing her <3)
The love Summer and Collin have for each other is undeniable and Promising Forever is written in such a way that their love almost becomes tangible. You can feel it with each turn of the page, every time their points of view change and you’re given a deeper glimpse of their true emotions  and you can’t help but get attached all over again. I love that Ashley Wilcox can manage to give every one of her character’s a unique personality that never changes, no matter how often they make appearances throughout the series.

Promising Forever made me feel like a little kid, I was so excited and wishing I was Summer the entire read. I want the love and romance Ashley Wilcox captures in her stories to bleed over into my reality. Poor boys, I suppose they’re going to have to read Ashley Wilcox so they know what they’re up against. I’m so glad I discovered The Forever series and that Ashley Wilcox changed my opinion on romance and love. If you’re looking for a quick sweet read that will keep a smile on your face and make you excited about love then Promising Forever is a perfect match. Once again Ashley Wilcox gives us a wonderful romance that’s impossible not to get lost in.

Breathless Anyone

Although this title is not yet available to be purchased, it's worth putting on your Goodreads To Be Read Shelf so you remember to check it out! This is a series worth some attention. It's written with vivid descriptions, swoon worthy male characters and a lot of sass.

Breathless

An Elementals Series Novella

By Brigid Kemmerer

Book Description

Too many secrets. Not enough time.
Nick Merrick is supposed to be the level-headed one. The peacemaker. Since it’s just him and his three hotheaded brothers against the world, that’s a survival tactic.
But now he’s got problems even his brothers can’t help him survive.
His so-called girlfriend, Quinn, is going quick as mercury from daring to crazy. Meanwhile, Quinn’s dancer friend Adam is throwing Nick off balance, forcing him to recognize a truth he’d rather shove back into the dark.
He can feel it—-the atmosphere is sizzling. Danger is on the way. But whatever happens next, Nick is starting to find out that sometimes nothing you do can keep the peace.

My Review

Novella’s as a part of a series do excite me like a little kid in a candy store. Usually because I get attached to my series characters (like the swoon worthy Merrick brothers), so when extra short stories are thrown in the mix, I’m all over it. Brigid Kemmerer’s Breathless allows readers into Nick (Gabe’s twin) Merrick’s mind and his out of control girlfriend. I give Kemmerer kudos for writing a series that mainly focuses on strong young men as the protagonist. Granted I do enjoy my kick ass heroines, its nice to see a supernatural series that boys can be less afraid of getting caught reading.
Nick is a well-rounded teenager struggling to keep it together after his parents died, while living up to his twin’s and other brothers expectations along with his confusing relationship with Quinn and coming to terms with his own sexuality. Especially since Brigid Kemmerer writes his view in such a way that you can feel how torn he is between being who he is and who others want him to be. Teenagers and all kids strive to make their parents happy, making Quinn the perfect pairing for his story because she struggles with her family relationships to the point of very bad decision making. I really enjoyed how Adam was written to be a little pushy at times with Nick because I felt he needed to be challenged. Plus in reality not everyone is nice or behaves like a perfect person. Adam was definitely given his own unique personality while remaining a strong influence on both Nick and Quinn.
However, one thing that I didn't particularly care for was that there was no clear definition between Nick and Quinn’s viewpoints seeing as how they’re pretty much together through the entire book; it wasn't always a clear transition. I believe the story would have been stronger if those sections blended together better or there was a page break, just something to warn readers that the story is about to change point of views.
In the end Breathless reminded me why I loved the Merrick brothers and young adult books. It was beautifully written and sent me back to the days when I was a teenager with an identity crisis. Brigid Kemmerer definitely leaves readers excited and begging for more of Nick’s story. We want to see him in his full glorified potential. Breathless, is a compelling, engaging, and intense read making it a wonderful addition to The Elemental’s series.

My Review: 4 Stars

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Daimon, A Prequel to Half-Blood

So a couple days ago I read Daimon and Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout and then I got sucked into a couple books I’m reviewing for Netgalley and on Pulseit. Reading I’m telling you in an addiction. It’s so bad even my college professors have given up trying to get me to quit reading during classes and on breaks. However, I do have a 4.0 which leaves them little room to talk. After all I am the one that’s paying an arm and a leg. I listen when I need too and read the remaining time. I am halfway done with my 5th book for this week and my to-read stack is only growing bigger.
Onto the point of this post, my review for Daimon: a prequel to Half-Blood.

Daimon

By Jennifer L.Armentrout

Book Synopsis

"Love in my world usually ended up with someone hearing 'I smite thee ' as she was cursed to be some lame flower for the rest of her life." For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals--pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty. According to her mother, that's a good thing. But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return-the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death... because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill. The daimons have found her.

My Review

I downloaded this book onto my kindle in order to see if I would want to read the actual series. Daimon was a great peek into the world of Alexandria Andros and the Hematois. Hematois are the result of Gods having children with mortals and the Half-bloods spawn from a Hematois having a child with a mortal. Alex (Alexandria) is a half-blood, her mother a powerful Hematoi and Daimon introduces Alex’s story in Miami, three years after her mother forced her to leave their world behind without so much as an explanation.
Immediately after starting the book, Armentrout had me hooked with her witty dialogue, fast plot and a pretty badass heroine. The story she weaves about the Gods and their relationship with the Hematoi’s and Half-blood’s is intoxicating.
Usually prequels are just a hint at what’s to come, but in sixty five pages Daimon had me hooked and downloading Half-blood within seconds. The cliff-hanger at the end made my heart fall out of my chest and I HAD to know what happened next.
This book is an amazing prequel that promises a fantastic series. If you enjoy books with edgy and entertaining writing accompanied by an awesome heroine, then I’d recommend this book to you. If Daimon is any reflection on the rest of the series, then Jennifer L. Armentrout promises to bring us more badass characters, amazing writing and plot lines that will keep you on your feet until the very last page.
